South House Is Bringing December Back Home

by Benjamin Unah

Southern Yankee and its nightlife arm, South House, are landing in Africa this December — not as visitors, but as a brand finally touching the source of the culture they’ve been championing for years.

If you’ve seen their work, you know they sit in that sweet spot where music, style, and community overlap. This time, they’re taking it to Accra and Cape Town, linking their global audience back to the places that shaped the energy they’ve always been inspired by.

South House is pulling up first — two nights in Ghana (Dec 26 & Dec 29), then a full take-over in Cape Town (Jan 5). Think: hip-hop, afrobeats, dancehall, amapiano… all the sounds that define the moment, finally meeting the continent that birthed half the rhythm.

Then comes the new Southern Yankee drop: 'Never Been To', a capsule inspired by Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa. The pieces look like movement, memory, and hometown pride stitched into product. It’s a nod to the roots that quietly influence global streetwear every single day.

Together, the tour and the collection almost feel like the brand coming full circle, linking diaspora identity, nightlife culture, and design into one clear message: the world comes from Africa, but this time, they’re coming to give something back.
