LUWA.MP4 BY PRIMERIES

by Benjamin Unah

Ayooluwa, better known as Luwa.mp4, grew up in Ibadan, where the experience was less about his geography and more about perspective. “It made me think on such a bigger scale.”

Music wasn’t an inheritance; it was discovered. “I had to find my voice,” he admits. That journey sharpened during a gap year, which he calls a turning point. “I realised there wasn’t much I was truly passionate about, except this.” The realisation lit a fire, and he hasn’t looked back since.

When asked about his proudest moments, he doesn’t name awards or streaming milestones but recalls a performance at Chrisland. “That was a crazy moment for me.”
Luwa’s songs are rooted in a single, potent theme: freedom. Yet, it’s not about escape; it’s about expansion. “I want you to feel like, instead of escaping, you’re adding another dimension to your life,” he explains.

He described his sound in one word: “Cyberpunk”.
When creative blocks hit, Luwa’s solution is disarmingly simple: step outside the frame. “I try something new away from whatever field the block is in,” he says. That perspective keeps the music alive, and it’s the same instinct he hopes to carry into the next phase of his career.

“I want to be more direct with my message,” he says, imagining a next chapter where his music doesn’t just stir emotions but communicates with precision and purpose.
