The “Waste to Wonder” exhibition by IAN.E.CARSON, hosted at Temple Muse in Lagos and led by creative director Anderson Edewor, explored a new vision for African fashion centered on sustainability and reinvention. The showcase featured sculptural garments made from discarded materials, presented more like art pieces than traditional runway fashion. Through this approach, the platform highlighted craftsmanship, collaboration with artisans, and slower production methods. The exhibition also reflected Lagos’ growing role as a cultural hub where fashion, art, and design intersect, while suggesting that the future of African fashion may lie in creatively transforming existing materials rather than constantly producing new ones.
